"Singapore Cowboy" is synonymous with Matthew And The Mandarins, the most popular country and western group in Singapore in the seventies. Matthew Tan, the lead singer, minted the greatest original hit "Singapore Cowboy" that perpetually brings sweet memories of the by-gone days of country and western music.
Matthew and The Mandarins was the only Singapore group that went on to record albums in Nashville, Tennessee and eventually 4 albums with EMI that had equally popular golden oldies like, Let's Put the Sing in Singapore, Daytime Friends, Lucille, among others. They used to perform their melodic blend of country and western songs at former Hotel Negara.
Matthew was recently playing at Stuttgart Blackforest Boutique S-Café until July 2015 from 8pm till late. Currently, he will be appearing in a couple of SG50 celebration shows. To connect with Matthew, check out his facebook page.

This is a five piece Blues band made up of five seasoned musicians who have all been performing professionally in various well-known bands in Singapore over the last 15 to 20 years, and have performed in well-known clubs and pubs, country clubs, hotels,concerts and shows in Singapore and internationally.
The music we perform appeals to mainly people who enjoy lively upbeat groove music, and include the pub going crowd, our own local audience, foreigners and expats, and generally anyone who enjoys good rocking music with great rhythm and groove. The rough & tough local country band, Hi-Breed from Kuching, Malaysia, performed at MIRI Country Music Fest 2015.
A household name in the local entertainment scene, Hi Breed played a wide repertoire of country tunes at the show. All band members are self-taught musicians playing country, rock and roll, blues, rock and pop tunes but their passion is for country music.

Led by Jude Singho, the Kuala Lumpur-based band whose music origins started from the Portuguese settlement in Malacca before saddling in at ‘Long Horn Country & Western Pub’ (KL), is made up of his siblings blues-based Jerry and Bernadette together with Canute De Costa and Ronald Anthony.
