1. Don a hat. The most identifiable trait of a cowboy is a hat which  is more than just an accessory  – it performs essential functions. For a true cowboy hat, look for the Stetson or Bailey brands. Choose a beaver fur felt hat for cold weather, and a straw hat for the warmer seasons.

2. Get a pair of boots. One of the most identifiable elements of the cowboy style is a good leather boot. Choose a size that is comfortable for line dancing and casual wear.

3. Slip on a pair of jeans. There are many choices, from Levi's to Lee -  simple jeans, with straight legs or boot cut will do. 

4 .Wear a western style vintage  shirt . These are available in light or heavy embroidery . You could also opt for checkered cowboy shirts .

To advance your cowboy look, find a long-sleeved, button-down shirt, preferably with a plaid pattern.

5. Wear a bolo tie -this   is a type of necktie consisting of a piece of cord or braided leather with decorative metal tips – aglets (aiguillettes) – secured with an ornamental clasp or slide.  They come in all sizes for both sexes and is great if you wanna look sharp dressed. 

6. Get a good belt and an even better buckle. Many cowboys prefer wide leather belts with large metal buckles, which are often made of silver or brass. These may have "western" themes, or the cowboy’s initials, or a country & western motiff like a horse , horse shoe or gun.

7. Grow a mustache or a beard. Ok, this is something thats not available for purchase.  Working cowboys, who are often on the job from sun-up to sundown, don’t have much time for shaving, hence many of them in western movies have facial hair - it gives them a rugged, mean, manly look. Cow gals just need to look pretty.
